My Second Birthday

Well, it's been a while since I have posted anything, and I figured today was an appropriate day to share something...as it is my second birthday! 10 years ago, on the 28th of November 2008, I made the most important decision of my life - where was I going to spend eternity? 

Growing up, I knew all the stories - Noah and the ark, Ruth and Naomi, Jonah and the whale, Esther saving her people, Jesus performing miracles, Saul becoming Paul etc. It was normal to pray before meals, get up early for church on Sunday's, and have talks about "treating others how you would want to be treated". It wasn't until I was 10 years old, that I realised why all these stories and bible readings were so important. And so, I decided to confess my sins, and invite Jesus to reign over my life.

This doesn't mean that life immediately became simpler, or easier. In fact, life is hard - It's full of daily challenges, struggles, and burdens. But it is also full of encouragements, triumphs and accomplishments. I know I wouldn't be where I am today without God's love. He's the One who gives me passions and dreams. He's the One who opens doors and shuts doors. He's the One who knows what is best for me, and will bring the right opportunities along in His timing. He's the One who sees me through the good times and the bad. And I am forever thankful for what He has done for me.

One verse people have shared with me over the past few years that I would like to share with you that has been a huge challenge, but also a huge encouragement to me, is this:

This is a hard verse to live by, and I do struggle with it - But I know that God has everything under control, and He has a plan and purpose for whatever is coming next in my life.
