Sometimes, I struggle to see the big picture...Especially when life makes no sense, or I feel lost. However, God has an amazing way of reinforcing His love through these moments.
As you can probably tell by my last blog post, I have had some ups and downs lately. Some things I've said out loud, and some things I've kept quiet. But no matter what I go through, God always pulls through - whether I'm aware of it or not. I was encouraged during yesterday's sermon at church, which was taken from Psalm 1: (Yes, most of my notes are copied from the sermon) -
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, not sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
We all go through different seasons in life. Some publicly, some privately. Every season is necessary - it helps us grow. We have to remember that God is with us in every season; in the summers, and in the storms. Just because we follow God, doesn't mean life is going to be easy. We have to be planted in a place where we can grow, with our roots deep down in the love of God, not of the world. Where we plant our roots will determine how we grow. We get to choose who we become.
The question is, who are we going to listen to? God, or the world?
Have a great week guys!

“The branches of growing trees not only reach higher, but their roots grow deeper. It’s impossible for a strong tree to have high branches without having deep roots. It would become top-heavy and topple over in the wind. The same is true with Christians. It’s impossible for us to grow in the Lord without entwining our roots around His Word and deepening our life in His commands.” - Joni Eareckson Tada (Diamonds in the Dust)
